How to search court cases by national ID in TYBA
In TYBA, search by document number through the Citizen tab. Choose the document type, enter its number and review the matches. No results do not prove that no case exists: some courts use other systems.

Justicia XXI Web - TYBA has a public case-search page. The Rama Judicial's guide describes three tabs: Process, Citizen and Property. ID searches use Citizen, where you choose a document type and enter its number.
The CPNU is a separate public search tool. It supports searches by person or company name and other criteria. This page focuses on TYBA document searches; the CPNU guide explains searches by name.

Select the Citizen tab
Do not choose Process, which searches by filing number, or Property, which uses land-registration details.
Choose the document type
The TYBA guide lists national ID, foreign resident ID, NIT tax number, passport, civil registry and identity card, among other types the form may offer.
Enter the number and submit the search
Enter the number for the selected type and use the search option. If results appear, compare them before deciding that any one belongs to the person you are looking for.
The filing number lets you return to a case
When the search identifies a case that appears in the CPNU, you can organize it by its filing number and review new docket entries published by the court.

- Review the filing number and court shown for each match.
- Check the parties and any docket information published by the system.
- Visibility may vary: TYBA documentation says courts can mark cases or party details as private.
- Save the complete filing number if you need to return to the case or search for it in the CPNU.
If TYBA does not find the case
A TYBA search is not proof that a person has no court cases.
- Check that you selected the right document type and entered its number correctly.
- The Rama Judicial notes that some courts use systems other than TYBA.
- If you have the person's name, search by name in the CPNU.

- Contact the court when you need to verify a specific case status.

Does a TYBA ID search show every court case in Colombia?
Do not assume that it does. The Rama Judicial says some courts use systems other than TYBA. The CPNU includes cases registered in TYBA and other applications, so it is also worth searching there if you have a name or filing number.
What does it mean if TYBA returns no results?
The case may be in another system, may not be visible in the public search, or the search details may not match. Check the document type and number, and try the CPNU if you have another search criterion.
Can I search by name if I do not have the ID?
Yes. According to the Rama Judicial guide, the Citizen tab also accepts a name. The CPNU also offers searches by person or company name.
