What it costs to watch court cases in Colombia: 30, 60 or 100 case numbers
Colombian court-docket monitors bill in four different ways, which is why their prices cannot be compared at a glance. Here is the arithmetic, with the source and the date of every figure.
Four ways of charging for one service
Watching a case number is always the same job: somebody checks the court portal every day and says whether a new filing appeared. What changes from one provider to the next is the unit they bill, and that alone is enough for two prices that look alike to end up three times apart once the volume goes up.
These are the four models used today by the Colombian providers that publish a price.
Per case
A fixed rate for each case number watched, per month. It is the clearest model with few cases and the one that grows fastest with volume: a hundred cases cost a hundred times one.
By tier
A monthly price with a cap of cases included. It jumps at the cap, so the real price depends on where in the tier your caseload sits.
Flat rate
A monthly price with no published cap on cases. It is the most expensive with few case numbers and the cheapest with many, and it is the model where the fine print about which sources are covered matters most.
By credits
A monthly allowance of AI credits instead of a per-case-number fee: watched case numbers are not billed by the unit, and the allowance also covers the AI's work on your documents. It is Custodio Legal's model, and the arithmetic is further down.
What a month costs, by volume
Every figure comes from the rate each company publishes, with the link and the date it was checked. Where the rate is per case, the cell is that rate multiplied by the volume. Only two things are compared: the published price and how many case numbers it covers.

How to run your own numbers in four steps
Count how many active case numbers you have today, not how many you carried last year. Monitoring is billed on the active ones.
Check which sources you actually need. Several providers charge separately for each additional platform, and that line is usually the difference between the headline price and the invoice.
Multiply, or find your tier in the table above, and write the number down. It is the floor of what you pay just to hear about a change.

Frequently asked questions about the cost of watching cases
Why can't everything be compared with a single number?
Because the billing unit changes. A per-case rate grows with the caseload, a tier jumps at its cap, and a credit allowance depends on use. The only honest comparison is total monthly cost for a specific volume, which is what the table does.
What happens to the history if I change provider?
It depends on each provider and it is worth asking before signing. In Custodio, a matter is loaded with its case number and monitoring runs from day one: the timeline is rebuilt against the official source, not against whatever the previous provider held.
Are there costs the table does not show?
The table shows the price each provider published on the date given. There may be charges for an extra source, per user or for a minimum term that only appear at contracting, which is why every row links to its origin page: what the company publishes is what counts.
Are monitoring and using AI the same thing?
No. Monitoring is finding out that something changed; AI over your documents is reading and summarizing what changed. Some products do only the first, others only the second, and each price answers a different question.
