How Custodio follows an Ecuadorian case
You find your client’s cases
You type your client's national ID, RUC or name and the Función Judicial system answers which cases they have, as plaintiff and as defendant; you tick the ones to watch. If you already have the number, you register it directly: the Ecuadorian format is PPCCJ-YYYY-NNNNN and Custodio validates it when you save it, so one extra digit doesn't leave you following somebody else's case.

Custodio queries the system once a day, overnight, for every open case you have registered. Nothing to click and nothing to remember.

It compares what the system returns today against what it already had stored and flags what wasn't there: an order, a movement in the proceeding, a change in the state of the case.

Do I have to load the case numbers one by one?
Custodio searches both sides, plaintiff and defendant, so a client who was sued doesn't fall through. You type the national ID, the RUC or the name and the Función Judicial system answers that person's or company's cases, with the case number, the action and the filing date; you tick the ones to watch and the detail arrives when you import.
How often does Custodio check the Judicial Function system?
Once a day, for every open case you have registered. Custodio tells you when something changed; if the judicial unit recorded nothing, it doesn't interrupt you.
Which public source does Custodio follow in Ecuador?
The Función Judicial case lookup, which is the country's public source: the state of the case and the filings the judicial unit records. That is what Custodio checks every day, and what backs every alert.
Which case number does it accept?
The Ecuadorian format PPCCJ-YYYY-NNNNN: five or more digits of province, canton and judicial unit, four for the year and five for the sequential. If the number is not in that shape, Custodio says so when you save it instead of accepting it and finding nothing.
How does Custodio help me with deadlines?
Custodio tells you the same day the filing appears, so you count the term from the first day and not from the day you found out. It gives you the exact date of the event that triggers it, the source behind it and Ecuador's business-day calendar, with the holidays of article 65 of the Código del Trabajo and their transfers.
